Well these two were an experiment with my new camera equipment - Nikon D3. The camera and equipment did not fail me, however, my neck did kill me the next day. It's one heck of camera to lug around, but the results were phenomenal. The group was awesome...those poor guys trekked outside in 90 degree heat in black shirts, jackets, and pants! Thanks to College of the Ozark security they opened a door for me to take pictures of the ladies inside. Let's face it, dresses can be hot too! I hope you like these photographs. :)

I know Lauren was looking forward to have me as a wedding photographer just as much as I was looking forward to do her wedding! It was such a beautiful wedding and the dancing was great. She had cupcake cakes and they were insanely delicious. Her dress was also another beautiful part of the wedding! Her mother-in-law perfected a lovely replica of Lauren's mother's dress.

Jeremy & Elyse are such a special couple. Elyse was my roommate for last semester. Bless her heart! She had to deal with me and wedding and I had to deal with her and weddings. Actually, we were probably meant to be. She couldn't wait until her wedding day. She even counted it down (like I'm sure many brides do!).

Brendon and Lauren had on of the sweetest weddings I've seen in a long time. They are truly in love with each other and it shows. Although they seem like quiet people, they speak volumes with their smiles and laughter. I was pleased to get to capture their big day. :)

Playing Catch Up

A lot has happened since December. My busy schedule, however, has not ceased! After the last semester ended I got a new apartment with Alicia. I absolutely love it at my new place. I'll post images of my place tomorrow - I think. Yes, ok I will. That will be my picture project tomorrow!

Well, aside from an exciting new apartment I have an exciting new job! I have currently been added on as a wedding photographer for Big Smile Photography. I still have my own business, but any weddings that I do will now be contracted with Jeremy Lawson's business. I'm truly excited and I can't wait for my career to take off. In my next post I will post my favorite pictures from the weddings last month.

One BIG post: Family & Couple Portraits

Yesterday I had such a great time with Alicia, her boyfriend, and family. We all met at College of the Ozarks and took pictures. Luckily the weather was kind to us. I have to admit that I was biting my nails about outside photographs. But it was a whopping 53 degrees outside and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. Family sessions cost $100 for up to one hour.

The following aren't engagement photographs, but couplegraphs. After she loosened her boyfriend up we were able to get some great photos. Sessions like this cost $100 for up to an hour within a 30 mile radius of CofO.

It's the Little Things

I love capturing the little things when photographing weddings. I want to give a great big thanks to my mom and Erin for helping me out. I'd love to capture another wedding if anyone is getting hitched anytime soon (or far away). I'm availiable for travel and my prices can be VERY flexiable if it's a place I really want to go!

Tyler Sloan & Katie Stark

Tyler Sloan and Katie Stark were joined in marriage November 10, 2007 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Katie, with her elegant looks and spunky attitude was a joy to follow around. She kept apologizing for being so frantic, but honestly she kept everything under control. It was one great moment after another. I am so pleased Katie picked me to be apart of her wedding day, as the photographer. The location was so easy to photograph because the church had just redone the whole sanctuary and foyer. With a lovely location, you can almost expect exceptional photographs.

P.S. I should have caught the bouquet Katie!

Portfolio Shots

Yesterday I had the pleasure of photographing a very good friend of mine, Elizabeth. Due to the time change, we both scheduled our meeting time wrong - according to the sun set. Regardless of the sun setting way too fast (10 minutes max of getting a few great photos) we got some great shots. Thank you Erin and Elizabeth for having fun with me! It was a blast and I can't wait to do it again!

The Past, Present, and Future

Summer 2007 was a blast! Well, atleast the second half of it was. For the first time in 3 years I had a summer break. During that time I worked on my photography, spent time with family, and had me time. The picture above is an example of the type of senior portraits I do. Jessica was such a blast to work with and her unique style made the session go smoothly.

These semester I'm taking a course over digital photography so I can expand my knowledge of photography. Everything is running smoothly so far and I only expect the best from the class.

Monday morning we drove out to this elaborate castle-styled house. I can't believe this home has yet to be purchased! Once I become a famous photographer (half joking/half not) I want a house like the one we shot at. Tracy and Matt are a really sweet couple. Tracy is already in the real estate business and Matt has decided to partner up with his wife in the business world. I wish them the best of luck!

Price Changes! (Good ones!)

Most photographers do not explain why they charge what they charge! Incredible isn't it? Most do not explain how meticulous and stressful the job of a photographer can be. Imagine, this one person has to use his or her creativity and equipment to embody a story of his or her subject. Then, behind the scenes excess hours are spent on one photograph, fixing small details here and there, which can mean 20 hours at the minimum for a photographer after a photo shoot.

Weddings are stressful events for photographers. It's a once and a lifetime event (cross fingers!). Photographers, even the best in the business, stress before, during, and after the event. Missing a photograph could upset a bride or the bride's mother!

Broken Down
For 4 hours of wedding coverage, I am only charging $500.00 plus travel expenses. At this time, each mile is $0.45. This includes 100 photos cleaned and edited for (online or CD) proofing. Picture packages are separate.

For 6 hours of wedding coverage, I am only charging $700.00 plus travel expenses. At this time, each mile is $0.45. This includes 150 photos cleaned and edited for (online or CD) proofing. Picture packages are separate.

Engagement sessions are exciting, and usually the less stressful for a photographer. It is a time for the photographer and the couple to interact with each other on a casual level. For one hour of creativity and artistic time, I am only charging $100.00. Each hour afterwards is $50.00. The location of an engagement session can either be chosen by the lucky couple, or by the photographer.

Senior Portraits are so fun! It is enjoyable for me, as a photographer, to work with graduates who are ready to explore the adult world. However, I enjoy capturing that moment right before with creativity and a different style. For 1 hour, up to 2 changes of clothes, and a location of the senior or photographer's choice, is tied into a fee of $200.00 plus travel.

Portraits, or photographic captures of one's personality and/or beauty. These sessions are stimulated by creativity and unique planning. Currently price begins at $150.00 plus travel. Location can be chosen by the photographer or by you.

Family and Child Portraits much like regular portraits, this session is filled with creativity and spontaneity. 1 hour starts at $100.00 and each additional hour is $50.00.

Breathe - Just Breathe

I have to say that my first wedding experience was very exciting. Everything from watching the beautiful bride get ready to marry the man of her dreams, to test tasting the cake was absolutely wonderful. I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day to photograph, or fun people to take pictures of. Patrick and Danielle are such a lovely couple with wonderful friends and family. I came away from the experience with a large amount of knowledge, a sunburn, and sore thigh muscles (remind me to stretch and put on sunscreen next time before the next wedding!). From plump cotton clouds and the sweet fragrance of the countryside, I felt a sense of belonging. Here, just take a look at some of the photographs I snapped the day of April 28, 2007.

Just An Update

With school coming to an close, my love for photography has to sit on the back burner from time to time. Although I'd rather toss out papers, exams, and lectures to do photography, I figured it would be wiser to focus on schooling. However, during the time of getting my degree I am looking for more schooling in the photography region of education, and I will be searching for studio space either in Branson, Hollister, or Springfield. These three locations are ideal for business, but it's rather difficult deciding where I want to be!

Everything has clicked thus far with my business, so I will continue on the photography/artistic track. Not only is it my passion, but it's a rather invigorating job! It's great making people feel beautiful no matter what shape, size, or color.

Many questions concerning model portfolios have come to my attention. I will do my best to answer your questions to the best of my abilities. If your questions are not answered in the following list, please feel free to E-mail me your questions at aurenthiaphotography@hotmail.com.

Question #1. What are TFCDs and what are Aurenthia Photography's limitations?

TFCDs mean Time For CD shoots. This means you are giving me your time to expand my portfolio whereas at the same time you get a number (depending on the number of shots I get) in 8x10 jpeg format on a CD. Prints are available through me if you wish to purchase larger sizes or a professional 8x10, 4x6 photograph.

Question #2. What do I have to do to have a TFCD shoot done?

First, please contact me through Deviant Art (as seen below), E-mail: aurenthiaphotography@hotmail.com, or myspace (linked on my Deviant Art portfolio). Your look must be beneficial to my portfolio in order for me to do a TFCD shoot. Not every model will have a TFCD opportunity, but if you send me a recent photograph through E-mail, Deviant Art, or myspace, I will consider you for a TFCD project.

Question #3. What is your starting price?

Ah, the touchy cost subject. I am very confident in my skills and my imagination. I want to make myself available and less of a financial burden on my clients so my cost begins at $300.00 for a two hour session and up to three outfit changes. The session fees are for my artistic creativity and time. Payment for travel is added on if the location is out of a 20 mile radius from Point Lookout, MO. Prints and specialty packages can be worked out before hand or after the viewing of a proof cd.

Question #4.What is your experience level?

As a child I remember working diligently drawing horses to perfection. (Hah!) No, seriously, I began at the age of 16 when I purchased Adobe Photoshop 2.0 for my computer. My camera skills soon followed, and I expect them to elevate with more experience. As a young photographer, I am thrilled to experiment with you, and show off your unique beauty with a unique style. In college I've taken Introduction to Digital Design, Graphic Design, Typography, 2-D design, Art History I, and I am signing up for a Digital Photography class for Fall of '07.
